2006 Poetry Contest Winners

The winners of the NWU Chapter 7 poetry contest have been announced. They are:

1st place – “Descent” by Luisa A. Igloria, Norfolk , VA (... it is outstanding as a work of language and visualization of history.)
2nd place - “Seeing” by Hila Ratzabi, Brooklyn , NY (I appreciate the combination of precise detail, immediacy and impersonality in this poem.)
3rd pl “Full Snow Moon” by Melissa Tuckey, Washington , DC (Compression, delicate tension holding throughout. No needless words.)
